Summary:
This position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing events that support the growth and promotion of our Taproom. This includes facilitating communication between our management team and external vendors, managing a calendar of events, and adhering to profitability objectives. Additionally, this position will be responsible for some local events outside of the taproom. This position reports to the Owner but will work closely with the Marketing Team and Taproom Manager. The position has no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead the team in brainstorming, developing, organizing and executing brewery-hosted events at the brewery and within the local (South Windsor) area
– Coordinate all details of events with outside vendors for internal special events, live music, trivia and other events for the taproom
– Responsible for idea generation for new events to drive retail business at the tasting room
– Develop budget for requested expenses for events
– Collaborate with other departments to maximize creativity for events
– Lead the charge in continuing to make the events fun, dynamic, and profitable
– Maintain event Google calendars and facilitate all event-related internal communication between departments
– Work with Marketing Team to ensure all events are properly promoted and “on-brand”
– Work with Management team to determine what beers should be poured at special events and make sure appropriate beers are available for each event
– Facilitate additional needs to complete the event such as glassware, chairs, decorations, and tables
– Manage, monitor and attend each event and assist with set-up and clean-up
– Be the point of contact for all in-house event or vendor requests
– Coordinate the scheduling of food trucks for the taproom
– Carefully store all event gear and equipment in an organized manner at the brewery when not in use
– Coordinate with the Taproom Manager to make sure each event is properly staffed and all details (about vendors, set-up, and other special requests) are communicated and executed
– Ensure that proper permitting process is complete before participating in local events
– Event follow-up and monthly reporting; event analysis of participation and quality of events including profitability analysis
– Ensure safety of guests and coworkers; follow and understand safety protocols
– Provides Marketing Team all relevant information regarding internal and external events for newsletters, calendars and taproom marketing materials
– Provides guided tours upon request by manager or Owner
– Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with key vendors and customers.
– Supports other departments and managers as assigned
– Represents the brewery in a professional manner at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
– 21 years of age or older
– Able to kneel, stoop, move quickly and be on feet all day
– Valid and clean driver’s license and use of own car each day
– Must be willing/able to work extremely flexible hours including some nights and weekends
– Ability to work at a fast pace, in high pressure situations, while maintaining professionalism and composure
-Prior event experience preferred
